Vítor Bento, 67 years old, graduated in Economics by ISEG-Lisbon School of Economics and Management, with a Masters degree in Philosophy from Portuguese Catholic University. Certified by Insead in Corporate Governance. Doctor of Philosophy - PhD, Strategic Studies With Distinction by University of Lisbon - ISCSP - School of Social and Political Sciences.

Chairman (and former CEO) of SIBS (Payments Processor and Payments Networks Manager), Chairman of ECPA (European Card Payments Association) and Adviser of Semapa (Pulp, Paper and Cements). Previously: Head of International Department at the Portuguese central bank, Director-General of the Treasury, CEO of the Portuguese Debt Management Office, and several other managerial positions in the private sector. Taught Economics and Finance in several Portuguese Universities and published several books on the Portuguese economy.
